Speaker: Prof. Jerry Jie Wu
Title: SHP2 as a Target for Anticancer Drug Discovery

SHP2 is a protein tyrosine phosphatase encoded by the PTPN11 gene. SHP2 mediates growth factor and cytokine signaling. Gain-of-function SHP2 mutations are causally associated with leukemias. The wildtype SHP2 is critical for tumor growth of several types of carcinoma. In the last few years, we have been trying to discover and optimize novel inhibitors targeting SHP2.  These will be discussed in the presentation.
