Bioinformatician position

A Postdoctoral Bioinformatician position is available immediately at the IMCB Epigenetics and Cell Fates Laboratory. The laboratory is interested in dissecting the genetic and epigenetic mechanisms regulating cell fate changes, while developing novel tools and strategies in deriving differentiated cell types via defined factors reprogramming.

Applicants with a strong background in Bioinformatics and next-generation sequencing data analysis are invited to apply. Successful candidates must be highly motivated, have passion for research and be able to work in an interdisciplinary environment.

Requirements:

- Ph.D. from a well-recognized institution with a strong research background in Bioinformatics  
  /Computer science/Biostatistics or equivalent
- Experience in bioinformatics and data analysis for DNA microarray, ChIP-seq and RNA-seq
- Experience with open source bioinformatics tools
- Excellent analytical, technical and problem solving skills
- Knowledge with biostatistics highly desirable
- Self-starter who is comfortable working in a fast moving interdisciplinary team
- Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals
- Committed and able to work flexible hours
- Excellent communication, technical writing and presentation skills

Project Manager - Slide Scanning and Image Analysis

The Advanced Molecular Pathology Laboratory (AMPL) at IMCB invites applications for the post of Project Manager to lead the Imaging and Analysis unit in this dynamic core histopathology facility.

The laboratory provides support to the research community in Singapore, specializing in research histopathology. The laboratory prides itself on providing the highest quality, leading edge capabilities, of which imaging and image analysis of biological specimens is a key component.

The successful candidate will have the following credentials:

- MSc. Or Ph.D. in a field relevant or applicable to biological imaging and image analysis is   preferred, other areas of expertise will be considered.
- Good background knowledge of microscopy
- Strong analytical skills, especially in the area of image processing and analysis applications
- A strong background in biology or biological sciences is essential
- Programming and algorithm development skills would be an advantage

We are looking for a candidate who can work independently on projects as the project leader but also be part of a larger team. Good interpersonal and organizational skills are essential, with the ability to interact with senior scientists from research and industry. Histology Laboratory Manager

Histology Laboratory Manager

Responsibilities:

The IMCB Histopathology Laboratory is a state of the art core service facility serving the entire research community in Singapore. The successful candidate will responsible for the overall day-to-day administration of the laboratory in areas of staffing, institutional health and safety regulations, operational requirements etc. He/She will also be required to oversees the quality control programme for the laboratory and ensure that customer needs are met at all times.

Requirements:

- Possess at least a diploma in Biomedical Sciences or Equivalent
- Must have at least 5 years full time experience in a research histology laboratory working with   animal tissues from multiple species.
- Should have a minimum of 5 years experience working in a GLP laboratory or a similar accredited   environment
- Willing and able to work with laboratory animals, including rodents, lagomorphs, non-human   primates, pigs etc.
