The Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IMCB) is a leading research institute in biological sciences funded by the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR). Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI) is the national body for ophthalmic and vision research in Singapore, and is one of the largest research institutes in the country. Together, IMCB and SERI are developing an industry-standard research platform in retinal angiogenic diseases that leverages the complementary expertise of SERI & IMCB in clinical and preclinical science to identify and validate novel biomarkers and targets, and evaluate potential anti-angiogenic therapeutics in partnership with the pharmaceutical industry.

We are now inviting suitable candidates to apply for the following position::

Project Manager – In Vivo,
SERI/IMCB Program in Retinal Angiogenic Diseases (SIPRAD)

Overview of Role:

  • Designing and conducting animal experiments
  • Data collection, analysis, summarization and reporting
  • Learning all techniques associated with retinal angiogenic disease models and experiments
  • Ensuring that all animals studies are conducted with the highest possible regard for animal safety and humane treatment
  • Develop expert knowledge of the scientific literature pertinent to the goals and objectives of SIPRAD, including a thorough and expert understanding of animal models of retinal angiogenic diseases
  • Expected to take on the role of SIPRAD IACUC Chair in the future

Requirements:

  • Board-certified Veterinary Surgeon with a Bachelors/Masters Degree

  • Experience in multinational pharmaceutical organizations is an advantage

Network Engineer / Network Support Officer

The candidate will work within the ComIT Dept providing IP Telephony / Network Communication / Security support in a Biological Sciences research environment.

Job Scope:

  • Administration of Cisco-based networking and telecommunications infrastructure

  • Planning, implementation, maintenance and managing of networking/communication/IP Telephony hardware, firmware and software.

  • Network and security architecture design, planning and implementation

Requirements:

  • At least a Diploma in computer-related field with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in Cisco Network routing, switches, firewall and LAN/WAN/Wireless technologies, F5 SSL VPN and Unified Communication.

  • Professional certifications like CCNP or CCNA will be an added advantage.

  • Basic Unix/Linux systems administration experience highly advantageous.

  • Independent, resourceful and self-motivated team player with good communication and leadership skills.

IT Support Officer

Job Scope
  • Provide first level IT Helpdesk support (Hardware, software, printer, email and internet access) to the scientific and corporate users

  • Resolve Windows and Mac hardware and software issues

  • Evaluate, acquire and deploy Desktop, Laptop and Printers

  • Update and control IT asset inventory

  • Work closely with end-users and IT 2nd level support staff to resolve technical problems affecting IT services

Requirements:

Senior Officer (Administration)

The duties of the Senior Officer (Administration), include, but are not limited to the following:
1)   non-financial administrative support for research grants and other funding schemes
2)   support the industrial/business development functions of IMCB
3)   assist in the preparation of presentations and reports
4)   administrative assistance to various IMCB committees
5)   travel and seminar/meeting arrangements for local and international visitors
6)   IMCB event management, including conference planning
7)   being part of the IMCB Crisis Management Team
8)   other ad hoc duties

Requirements:

  • 2nd Upper B.Sc. (Hons) or Ph.D. in the Biomedical/Life Sciences

  • Applicants with a Ph.D. should have published in reputable international, refereed journals

  • Excellent strategic planning, data analysis, problem-solving and organisational skills

  • Well versed in computer applications such as Powerpoint, Excel and other MS Office software

  • A self-driven and meticulous individual who possesses good interpersonal skills and works well in a team-based environment

  • The ability to work with researchers and administrative staff
